A donor from outside the school district has pledged an additional $100 for every golfer who signs up for the 2012 Golf Outing. The money is earmarked for technology improvements at Gurney and the Intermediate School.

Submissions must be in by May 23 to qualify
for the kickball game. Games to be held during

Nautica Charity Poker - Cleveland Flats - March 1-4 - HUGE SUCCESS
Huge thanks to everyone who helped this year. Just to give you an idea of how big an effort this was, we had 141 different registered volunteers who worked a combined time of about 1200 hours. Moms and dads, school administrators and teachers, people from the Rec and Music Lovers, a handful of very experienced Nautica regulars, and all sorts of people from within and outside the community pitched in to pull this off. It was an eclectic group for sure, one that worked really hard and did an outstanding job. Thanks to your help, we were able to raise over $38,000 for the kids in the school district.
Dads' Club Approves $22.5K for High School Marching Band Uniforms
Believe it or not, marching band uniforms are expensive. Worse, the current ones are falling apart. The cost of purchasing a new set of uniforms for the marching band will be $45 thousand. Good news is these last for about 20 years. At our March members meeting, we approved a match for half the funds needed to purchase new uniforms, making the effort to get new uniforms for next year a real possibility. Look for them next year.
UPDATE - Chagrin Falls High School Band to Play National Anthem at Progressive Field, Thursday September 20, 2012
The Dads' Club wants to recognize the students in the marching band. Thanks to the Cleveland Indians, we were able to secure an anthem spot for them this fall. The students will look great in their new uniforms. 11:50 AM performance for a 12:05 PM game start.
The Dads' Club donated and helped serve 500 smoothies for the Safe Routes Chagrin Falls Walk to School Day for the Intermediate School students. We also ran a tug-o-war event and gave small prizes out to the Gurney kids who happened to get roped into this event with their older siblings (we had a few left over from the canceled picnic). Thanks to all who helped out. Thanks also to Marti DeSantis, Food Service Supervisor, for envisioning and coordinating this.
